This nice infographic from eventility looks at how sports teams and individuals are using Facebook and twitter to connect with their fans.
Difficult to draw any firm conclusions but there must be some interesting lessons to learn from all those people following Cristiano Ronaldo, not all of whom can be Real Madrid or even football fans one would suspect. Interesting too that Manchester United have no significant twitter following, is that due to demographics or the frequency and quality of their tweets. It is a shame that no women make the top 10s, another reflection of the relatively low media profile given to women’s sports? Let’s hope that changes soon.
The idea behind the infographic itself is great, a clever, interesting and sharable way for eventility to raise their profile and highlight their platform. (It is a pity they misspelled Senhor Ronaldo’s christian name though!)
